A prominent citizen of Okoro-Okegbo community in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State, Femi Odeyemi, has been abducted by gunmen.

He was reportedly abducted on Sunday at about 12 midnight at his residence, according to sources who informed newsmen about the incident on Tuesday.

The gunmen invaded the community and whisked him to an unknown destination and a N100 million ransom has been placed on his head.

Leaders of the community have reported the matter to the Kwara State Police Command Headquarters and the Divisional Police Station at Babanla. But no further development has been reported.

DAILY POST recalls that some weeks ago, unknown gunmen stormed Okoro-Oke, the neighbouring community of Okoro-Okegbo, where two police officers were killed, while a Chinese national and a Nigerian miner were abducted by gunmen. Nothing has been heard about the incident since then.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Kwara Police Command, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, on Tuesday were unsuccessful
