Ahead of the Bye-election for the vacant seat of the Remo North Federal Constituency, the senator representing Ogun West Senatorial district and Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has sough the support of the people of the constituency to troop out on Saturday and vote for the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Princess Princess Sola Elegbeji.

Senator Adeola gave this endorsement in a statement he personally signed on Wednesday. He described Princess Elegbeji as the right choice at the right time.

According to him,  “Elegbeji is an apostle of the progressive doctrines of the late Chief Obafemi Awolowo and a true scion of Sagamu/Ikenne/Remo North Federal Constituency whose political philosophy is rooted in service, equity, and enlightenment.

“Princess Sola Elegbeji is not just a candidate but a continuation of a legacy who has subscribed fully to the tenets of the Renewed Hope Agenda as championed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun,” Senator Adeola said.

Adeola, who is also  chairman of the Ogun State causus of the national assembly, said the emergence of Princess Elegbeji as the APC candidate is a convergence of history, competence and vision, emphasising that her long-standing relationship with the late Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (aka Ijaya), whose passing left the Sagamu/Ikenne/Remo North Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives vacant, was not merely political, but deeply collaborative.

“They shared a bond of purpose and Princess Elegbeji was a quiet force behind many of the constituency initiatives we now celebrate while her pledge to expand the Sagamu/Ikenne/Remo North Youth Skills Empowerment Programme is not a campaign promise but a personal mission,” Senator Adeola also said.

The senator stressed that the Ogun State Caucus of the National Assembly has noted that Elegbeji’s candidacy enjoys the full backing of the party’s leadership, in addition to the strategic support of the Presidency and the confidence of the Ogun State government.

“She is trusted by the party, respected by the people and prepared for the task ahead. Her understanding of federal legislative dynamics, grassroots appeal and her unwavering loyalty to progressive ideals make her the ideal representative for Remoland at this time,” Senator Adeola concluded.

Earlier, Senator Adeola had in a viral video rallied the traditional institution  in Remoland to work for the candidate of the  APC. Addressing the annual retreat of the Remo Traditional Council led by Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Ajayi, Adeola noted the importance of having an APC representative who will work hand in hand with himself towards facilitating the dividends of democracy to Remoland.

The Sagamu/Ikenne/Remo North Federal Constituency bye-election is scheduled for this weekend, with APC leaders expressing confidence that Elegbeji’s candidacy will deliver a decisive victory and usher in a new era of responsive, progressive representation.
