The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it recovered a total of N1.233 trillion between October 2023 and July 2026 as part of its intensified campaign against financial crimes under the leadership of its Executive Chairman, Ola Olukoyede.
The anti-graft agency also recorded $684.48 million in recoveries during the 34-month period, involving funds recovered in 16 different currencies.
According to the commission, it secured 10,872 convictions out of 14,476 cases prosecuted within the period.
The EFCC said N397.26 billion of the total naira recovery represented funds recovered directly for the Federal Government, while N836.35 billion was recovered on behalf of individuals, corporate organisations and government agencies.
The figures were disclosed during Olukoyede’s media briefing on his stewardship since assuming office in October 2023.
The EFCC said the recovered funds were being deployed towards creating additional fiscal space, restitution, social investment and other measures aimed at generating wider economic benefits.
