As the political atmosphere in Ogun State gradually heats up ahead of the 2027 governorship election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, also known as YAYI, has been described as the true symbol of unity and progress for the Gateway State.
Speaking emphatically on the matter at the weekend, an Ogun APC chieftain, Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, noted that YAYI’s unique heritage and proven track record makes him the natural bridge between the diverse interests in the state.
“Senator Adeola represents the unity of Ogun State in a way no other contender for the plum job does. His paternal roots in Yewa and maternal lineage in Egba, makes him an embodiment of our collective identity. By his very background, he unites Ogun West and Ogun Central, and this is why he is the symbol of unity and progress,” Adeniji declared.
Adeniji stressed that YAYI’s emergence as the next governor would automatically resolve the long-standing agitation for equity and emancipation by the people of Ogun West. For decades, the senatorial district has clamoured for leadership of the state at its highest level.
“With YAYI, Ogun West’s cry for justice, inclusion and emancipation will be answered. His candidacy is not just about politics; it is about fairness, balance, and the fulfillment of a historic demand. He is the bridge that ensures no part of Ogun State feels left behind,” Adeniji assured.
Beyond his symbolic role, Adeniji pointed to YAYI’s performance as a Senator, where he has demonstrated capacity for economic and social development. From impactful legislation to facilitating projects that touch lives across Ogun State and empowering thousand to be economically independent, YAYI has shown that he is not only a unifier but also a progressive leader.
According to him “His mandate in the senate has already brought visible progress and comfort to our people. Imagine what he can achieve as governor with executive powers to conceptualize policies and implement programmes around industrial growth, infrastructural expansion, and social empowerment. Ogun will surely be more prosperous under his leadership,” Adeniji added.
As Ogun looks ahead to 2027, Adeniji urged citizens to rally behind YAYI, describing him as the candidate who embodies both the spirit of unity and the promise of progress.
“YAYI is not just a politician, he is a transformational leader and a walking vision of what Ogun can become – united, equitable, and progressive. Our people can be assured that with him in the saddle, the future of Ogun State is secure,” Adeniji concluded.
