The Eselu of Iselu Kingdom, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has said President Bola Tinubu’s approval of the conversion of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, Ogun State, to the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro, FUTI, is a testament to his commitment to promoting education and human capital development in Nigeria.

Eselu stated that it will also transform the educational landscape of Yewa Land.

The Pundit reports that the presidential approval was announced by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, during Wednesday’s plenary.

Expressing his heartfelt gratitude to President Tinubu, the monarch noted that the new university is expected to provide youth with access to cutting-edge technology and innovative education, empowering them to drive progress and development in the region.

Oba Akinyemi praised President Tinubu’s visionary leadership and commitment to the development of Yewa Land and Ogun State.

The Eselu of Iselu Kingdom also appreciated Senator Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial District, for his tireless efforts in pushing for the establishment of a federal university in Yewa Land.

He urged all Ogun West politicians to shun politics of witch-hunting and selfishness, emphasizing that everyone’s ambition should be secondary to the collective interest of Ogun West.

He said, “The conversion of the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro, to FUTI is a significant development that is expected to transform the educational landscape of Yewa Land.

“The people of Yewa Land are rejoicing over this achievement, and the Eselu of Iselu Kingdom has expressed his gratitude to President Tinubu for making their dream a reality.

“This landmark upgrade will provide our youth with access to cutting-edge technology and innovative education, empowering them to drive progress and development in our division, i.e., Ogun State.”
