The Patron of Ota Progressive Forum, Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, on Monday rallied hundreds of Ota residents for the emergence of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola fondly called YAYI, as the next governor of the state on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The twin event began at the old Olota Palace, where Adeniji and his supporters embarked on a colourful procession through Okeide and Ahmadiya section of the town down to the Zion Methodist School venue of the special meeting of Ota ward 2 of the All progressives Congress.
The procession which was accompanied by traditional drums and enthusiastic youths, attracted large numbers of residents along the route bearing banners and singing songs of support for the election of YAYI, Tinubu and other candidates of the party.
Speaking at the special mobilization meeting, Adeniji said the procession and meeting was conveyed to primarily mobilize the people of Ota community for the 2027 elections, stressing the need for massive support for YAYI’s governorship bid and the re-election of President Tinubu.
According to him, “Ota has a critical role to play in ensuring that the APC records overwhelming victory in the state, and I urge party stakeholders, community leaders and residents to work together towards delivering an unprecedented electoral performer like YAYI as our next governor”.
Adeniji described YAYI as an accomplished politician whose achievements from the legislative platform has demonstrated his capacity to deliver interventions that positively impacted the welfare for the people and development of the town.
He argued that YAYI’s performance as a legislator offered an indication of what he could accomplish with greater executive responsibilities of a governor.
He said, “YAYI’s footprints can be seen across various sectors, including education, roads, healthcare, markets, empowerment programmes and artisans support. These efforts has positively improved the lives of many residents. He has done so much as a senator and he will do so much more when he becomes governor of Ogun State; and so I urge our people to consider the senator’s record when making their electoral choices”.
Adeniji, who is also the Ogun West Initiative convener, used the meeting to drum support for the re-election of President Bola Tinubu. He said The president has steadied the ship of state an must be supported for a second term to consolidate on the ongoing reforms.
Calling for unity among APC members and stakeholders, Adeniji stressed that internal cohesion and grassroots mobilization would be crucial to securing victory for the party in 2027.
“I want us all to close ranks and ensure that the Ota delivers massive votes for YAYI, President Tinubu and other APC candidates”; He added.
