    ABEOKUTA –

The convener of Ogun West Initiative and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Olootu Bolaji Adeniji, on Wednesday called on citizens of Ogun State to continue to rally behind Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, widely known as YAYI, as the party’s undisputed choice for governor in the 2027 elections.

At a media engagement held in Abeokuta the Ogun state capital, Adeniji praised the APC for conducting what he described as one of the most peaceful and historic primaries in the country. He highlighted that YAYI’s candidacy emerged through a consensus process that brought together the incumbent governor, former governors, deputy governors, legislators, and party leaders across all 20 local government areas.

Adeniji noted that the endorsement was further reinforced when Adeola secured 304,055 votes in the primaries, defeating his sole challenger, Abayomi Hunye, who recorded no votes. He dismissed Hunye’s subsequent legal challenge as “without merit” and predicted it would soon collapse.

taking a swipe at the opposition, Adeniji criticized Honourable Ladi Adebutu of the PDP, describing him as a perennial contestant lacking capacity and popularity. He condemned attempts to revive debates about Adeola’s indigeneship, insisting that the issue was “dead, defeated, and irrelevant,” while affirming Adeola’s Yewa heritage.

On the recent exit of Senator Iyabo Obasanjo from the APC, Adeniji said her departure was inconsequential, stressing that she had no stake in the party’s growth or goodwill.

Reassuring Ogun citizens, Adeniji emphasized that Adeola embodies competence, vision, and progress, and will soon unveil his manifesto and economic blueprint aimed at driving growth and development in the Gateway State.

“Let us rise above distractions and embrace the future. Ogun State deserves a leader of vision, capacity, and credibility. That leader is Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola YAYI,” Adeniji declared.

He concluded by urging the people to march into 2027 with confidence and unity, affirming that the state is destined for greatness under Adeola’s leadership.
